Dear Washington Township Neighbors,

If we have not met, my name is John Chaplin. I have been a proud resident for the past 14 years and have had a lifetime love of Washington Township. Growing up, my family visited the Township's many orchards, parks, Frontier Town, and Stoney Creek. When it came time for my wife and me to pick our "forever home," we looked no further than Washington Township.

I am a small business owner with experience owning technology-based and property development companies as well as working as a quality system and process consultant. My critical thinking abilities, experience in risk management, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage a small business will help me become an effective trustee. 

I am running for Washington Township Trustee for many reasons: 

• Continue to support and preserve our Tri-Community Parks & Recreation, Star Transportation, and support personnel. Board members should not bully or demean those who are serving residents. 
• You deserve a board that is respectful to the citizens, township personnel, and one another. Several board members need constant reminders that they serve the residents.  
• Cooperate and work together with our neighbors in Bruce Township and Romeo. We are stronger together than divided. 
• Preserving the unique rural character that so many love about Washington Township. The Board must respect and not deviate from the Master Plan— balanced development, fewer multi-family homes, and consistent building code enforcement.
